Hello.

My name is Sarah Mount. I have lived in Las Vegas for four years where I've been in clinical practice for the past year. I graduated from the Marriage and Family Therapy program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and am licensed in the state of Nevada as a

LADC and MFT Intern. Prior to Las Vegas, I served in the US Navy for 12 years.

I am a proud veteran and member of the queer communities here in Las Vegas.

I believe the most important element of the therapy process is the relationship between myself and those whom I sit with. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your story soon!

My approach to therapy: I believe when we become aware of our needs, motivations, and patterns of behavior, we are able to make better choices for ourselves. Some talk therapies rely heavily on developing insight about our problems, but fall short in creating long term change in the experience of our emotional selves. In order to move beyond the limitations of those traditional talk therapies, I utilize experiential and narrative therapy techniques that place the soul in action - externalizing and resolving inner conflicts by re-creating personal stories and transforming them into more empowered life experiences.

Many clients use compulsive behaviors to avoid the experience of self; experiential and narrative therapies offer opportunities to have a more direct experience of self in a safe and structured environment. As a result, clients are able to move out of their heads and into a fuller experience of themselves. They can experience problems and rehearse solutions in new ways, expanding their sense of self and replacing compulsive behaviors with creativity and internal safety.

What to expect: I believe each client is unique, well-resourced, and beautifully human. In our work together, I hope to create a space for you to explore the lesser known parts of yourself - your wants, needs, and motivations - in a safe, non-judgmental environment. As we walk together on your journey toward knowing yourself in new ways, I will provide you immediate feedback and support so that you can better understand and own your change process. While there is no set timeframe for change in therapy, most individual and couple clients will experience meaningful change within the first few sessions. I am committed to remaining with you on your journey until you have reached your goals and feel confident in your ability to sustain change over time.
